The Ibolo Peoples’ Parley (IPP), a socio-economic group representing the people of Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas of Kwara State, has commended the state government for its ongoing infrastructural drive in Ibolo land.
In a statement jointly signed by its President, Engr. Bashir Lawal (FNSE), and General Secretary, Chief R.O. Balogun, SAN, the group praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration for several completed, ongoing, and newly awarded road projects across the area.
Highlighted projects include the recently awarded Ojoku–Ilemona Road, the Odo-Ode–Ikotun–Offa Road under RAAMP, Eyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa Road facilitated through BUA, as well as the Taiwo–Osunte Road, St. Claire’s–Rondo Road, Tipper Garage Idi-Ogun–Adesoye College Road in Offa, and Ahogbada–Inaja Road under RAAMP.
While acknowledging the government’s efforts, the group appealed for more interventions, particularly the rehabilitation of Offa–Igosun Road, Eleyoka–Ijagbo–Offa–Erin Ile–Osun boundary Road, Igbotele–Okeoye–Gudugba–Igbonna Road, and Offa–Ipee Road.
The IPP also urged the state to rehabilitate and modernize general hospitals in Ibolo land, upgrade basic health centres to cottage hospitals, and expand rural electrification to boost farming and youth employment.
“We passionately appeal to Your Excellency to approve the construction and rehabilitation of these roads and other facilities within Ibolo land. Our people will not be ungrateful if our demands are met,” the statement read.
The group prayed for the governor’s success and the continued development of Kwara State and Nigeria.
