The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has assured the Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Dr. Mohammed Jimoh Abdul, of its continued support and prayers following his reinstatement by the Visitor to the institution and Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The assurance was given on Wednesday when the National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, led members of the National Executive Council on a solidarity visit to the Rector at his office.

Represented by the National Vice President of the Union, Alhaji AbdulRauf Babatunde Issa, the IEDPU President congratulated Dr. Abdul on what he described as a well-deserved reinstatement.

Alhaji Abdulmalik noted that Kwara State Polytechnic remains the oldest tertiary institution in Ilorin and Kwara State, as well as one of Nigeria’s foremost higher institutions, with graduates making significant contributions both within and outside the country.

He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the decision to reinstate the Rector and praised the institution’s principal officers, management, staff and students for sustaining peace and ensuring uninterrupted academic and administrative activities during the Rector’s absence.

The IEDPU President expressed optimism that Dr. Abdul’s return would further enhance the growth and development of the institution and wished him a more successful tenure.

Responding, the Rector thanked the Union for the visit and support, while expressing appreciation to Governor AbdulRazaq and other stakeholders for their confidence in his leadership.

Dr. Abdul assured the Union and the wider Polytechnic community of his commitment to working with all stakeholders to move the institution to greater heights.
