
The National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has expressed deep sympathy to the Emir and people of Kaiama Emirate in the Kwara North Senatorial District of Kwara State over the brutal killing of innocent residents of the community.
In a statement signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo, Alhaji Abdulmalik said he received the news with profound sadness.
The IEDPU President, a retired Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, described the incident as a painful tragedy, noting that any calamity that befalls any community in Kwara State affects all, given the long-standing bonds of friendship and shared history between the Ilorin Emirate and other communities across the state, particularly those in Kwara North.
He specifically sympathised with the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON; the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Shehu Omar; the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Alhaji Sulaiman Sadiq; and the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Salihu Danladi.
Alhaji Abdulmalik urged security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure that those responsible for the killings are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice in accordance with the law.
