IEDPU United States Branch Distributes Food Items to the Less Privileged
Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), United States of America Branch today distributed food Items worth millions of Naira to the less privileged in Ilorin Emirate
The beneficiaries cut across Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Asa and Moro Local Governments Areas of Kwara State .The items distributed were Rice, beans and cash
Flagging off the distribution, Former Chairman, IEDPU U.S Branch, Engineer Babatunde Ayinde explained that the purpose of the gesture is to give back to the community.
He noted that the Ramadan relief package for the less privileged is geared towards alleviating their sufferings
Also Speaking, National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdulmumin Abdulmalik disclosed that annually IEDPU U.S Branch always doled out food items to the people in order to cushion the effects of economic hardship in the country.
Alhaji Abdulmalik posited that the National Secretariat of IEDPU always in collaboration with U.S Branch to support them in all their activities.
The IEDPU President eulogized the donors and prayed for their continued success in all their endeavours.
He said Muslims have been admonished to reach out to the less privileged, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and that was exactly what IEDPU U.S Branch has been doing
In his remark, Former President, Third Estate, Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yinka Yahaya commended IEDPU U.S branch for being consistent in reaching out to the less privileged during Ramadan.
Alhaji Yahaya urged all affiliates of IEDPU globally to emulate the U.S Branch in providing succour to the downtrodden
Dignitaries that attended the event were Abubakar Imam, National Secretary of IEDPU, Nurudeen Ibrahim, the National PRO of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdullahi Alaya, Alhaji Bayo Alabi and others.
