The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, has secured the conviction and life imprisonment of Prophet Ajiboye Abayomi Olayinka, General Overseer of Mission House of Divine Land of Joy and Prayer Ministry, over offences bordering on rape and unlawful sexual intercourse involving minors.

Delivering judgment on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, Justice Hammed Gegele sentenced the cleric to life imprisonment on multiple counts of rape and unlawful sexual intercourse with minors.

The court also handed him an additional 14-year prison sentence for illegal abortion.

The conviction followed investigations launched by the Gender Unit of the NSCDS, Kwara State Command, after the suspect’s arrest in May 2024 over allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation of underage victims in Agah Village, Ilorin South Local Government Area.

Following the conclusion of investigations, the matter was transferred to the Kwara State Ministry of Justice for prosecution, which eventually led to the successful conviction secured before the court.

The State Commandant Abbas Mohammed, commended the bravery of the victims for speaking up despite intimidation, threats, and emotional trauma.

The Command also praised officers of its Gender Unit for their professionalism, diligence, and resilience throughout the investigation process.

The NSCDC further appreciated the Kwara State Ministry of Justice for its collaboration and commitment to ensuring justice in the case.
