Affluent members of the society have been called to support the humanitarian activities of the Zakat and Sadokat Foundation in alleviating the suffering of the less privileged.
Prominent Islamic cleric, Ustaz Mukhtar Isale-Koto, made the call in Ilorin during the symbolic presentation of the 2025 Zakat disbursement by the Kwara State chapter of the foundation.
Ustaz Isale-Koto emphasized that the adoption of Islamic principles of Zakat could serve as a powerful tool in the eradication of poverty, provided it is administered with equity, fairness, and justice.

The cleric further urged organizations involved in the collection and distribution of Zakat and Sadokat to build a united and coordinated structure to enhance their collective impact.

Earlier in his address, the Kwara State Coordinator of the foundation, Engr.Bashir Ariyo, disclosed that over ₦17 million had been raised as Zakat in 2025.
He revealed the distribution breakdown as follows: 50% for empowerment, 20% for education support, 20% for healthcare assistance, and 10% for death relief interventions.
While explaining that out of 450 applicants, 69 indigent persons had been selected to benefit from this year’s Zakat support, Engr. Ariyo advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items received and resist the temptation to sell them.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Abdul-Kadri expressed deep appreciation to the foundation for its generosity and pledged to utilize the materials in a productive and responsible manner.
