Kaiama Youth Calls For Urgent Palliative Measures On Kaiama-Kishi Road.

The Federation of Kaiama Youth, FKY, in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State has appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other stakeholders to urgently provide palliative measures on the Kaiama-Kishi road to ease movement of goods and people.

Kaiama-Kishi road is the only road that connects Kaiama community to the state capital and is widely used to facilitate economic activities as well as social, and cultural exchange.

According to the Federation of Kaiama Youth, FKY, the current state of the road which is characterized by potholes, erosion, and flooding is alarming and needs urgent attention in order not to cut off the community from the State capital.

A statement issued by the General Secretary of the Federation, Comrade Salman Hassan, notes that the deplorable state of the road resulted in increase in travel time, cost of transportation, cost of vehicles maintenance, and safety risks.

The statement indicates that the situation affects local businesses, commuters, farmers transporting produce, emergency services, and healthcare.

While acknowledging the efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in developing the State, especially distribution of palliatives to the local communities, the youth implored him to implement an urgent and immediate repairs, grading, and resurfacing of the road, as well as improve drainage system and install safety features.

They stressed that the measures would enhance economic productivity, improve road safety, boost morale, and demonstrate the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.

The Federation of Kaiama Youth also called on the leadership of the Kwara State House of Assembly, the State Commissioner for Works, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Chairman, Kaiama Local Government to liaise with the Governor in providing succour to the people of Kaiama.
