Kwara State Government has reiterated that the Placement Examination, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination, remains free for all eligible pupils, urging strict compliance with the policy across public primary and junior secondary schools.

Speaking in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe said the examination is fully funded by the state government, with no approved charges for participating pupils.

Dr. Olohungbebe appealed to principals and head-teachers to uphold the government’s directive by ensuring that no unauthorised fees were collected from parents or guardians under any guise during the examination process.

He said schools have consistently demonstrated commitment to government policies.

The Commissioner noted that government expected every school leader to sustain that confidence by ensuring the Common Entrance Examination remains completely free for every eligible child.

Dr. Olohungbebe explained that the administration places high premium on transparency, accountability, and equitable access to education, stressing that any reported violations would be investigated and addressed appropriately in accordance with established regulations.

He also urged school administrators to maintain the highest standards of integrity throughout the examination process, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to credible, fair, and malpractice-free assessments across the state’s education system.
