Kwara State Government has described Bartholomew College of Health Technology, Shao, as a vital citadel of learning dedicated to producing competent and professional health workers for the state and beyond.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, stated this during the 17th Convocation and Award of Certificates Ceremony of the institution, held in Shao, Moro Local Government Area of the state.

Dr. El-Imam commended the management of the college for maintaining high academic standards and urged them to sustain their commitment to excellence in health education.

She noted that the college has continued to complement government efforts in addressing the shortage of skilled health manpower across the state.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, represented by the Director of Tertiary Education, Mrs. Sheriffat Giwa, praised the institution for its consistency in quality teaching and learning.

She described the college as a dependable partner in the state’s drive to strengthen the health sector.

In his address, the Provost of the College, Dr. Bartholomew Owoicho, congratulated the graduating students for their perseverance, discipline, and hard work throughout their academic journey.

Dr. Owoicho urged them to uphold professionalism, ethical standards, and a strong sense of community service as they begin their careers in the health sector.

He also appreciated the Kwara State Government and the Ministry of Tertiary Education for their continuous support and contributions toward the growth and development of the college.

In his remarks, the Ohoro of Shao, Oba Job Obolowu Atolagbe, advised the graduating students to adhere strictly to the ethics of their professions.

Oba Job Atolagbe commended the institution for its consistency in producing quality health professionals who contribute meaningfully to society.

About 400 students graduated from various departments, including Community Health, Public Health, Pharmaceutical Technology, Health Technician, and Health Assistant programmes.

The colourful event attracted dignitaries from the health sector, traditional rulers, government officials, parents, and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students.
