Kwara State Government says this monthly Environmental Sanitation exercise for the month of January will hold on Saturday 25th January, 2025 between the hours of seven and ten o’clock (7am to 10am) in the morning.
A statement from the Ministry of Environment enjoins all residents across the state to fully participate in the exercise, by cleaning both their residential and business environments.
The statement warns members of the public that there will be no vehicular and human movements across the state, during the exercise.
According to the statement signed by the Press Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Environment, Shakirat Muritala, trucks will be made available for waste collections and subsequent disposal of same, at government approved dump sites.
“It is an offence punishable under the environmental law to dump refuse on pedestrian walkways, road side, drainages, canals and other unapproved dump sites.
“In the same vein, any attempt to obstruct or deny government officials from carrying out their statutory obligations, will be dealt with accordingly within the ambit of the law.
