
The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo has pledged to strengthen security across the state by tackling crime head-on and promoting discipline within the police force.
Speaking during his maiden press briefing at the Police Headquarters in Ilorin, CP Ojo emphasized his commitment to zero tolerance for misconduct among officers .
CP Ojo warned that any personnel found guilty of indiscipline, human rights violations, or extortion would face strict sanctions.
He assured the people of Kwara State that the police would not relent in their fight against crime and criminality, stating that “there will be no sanctuary for criminals in this state.
The police commissioner highlighted the importance of public trust and cooperation, stressing that effective policing relies on strong partnerships with stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders, civil society, and the media.

CP Ojo expressed confidence in his ability to lead the command, given his familiarity with the state’s security terrain.
He pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors and reaffirmed the command’s dedication to community policing and collaboration with local vigilante groups, traditional institutions, and civil organizations.
The police commissioner commended the media for their role in fostering transparency and shaping public opinion.
He called on journalists to support the police through objective and balanced reporting.
CP Ojo also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for entrusting him with the leadership of the command.
