The Ganmo community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has been in a celebration mood following the official recognition of Oba Kamaldeen Jimoh Akanbi as the Oniganmo.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, presented the certificate and staff of office to the monarch, formally affirming him as the only recognised traditional ruler in Ganmo community.
The Ganmo Descendants Association, in a statement made available to Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the confirmation, describing it as a significant step towards unity and stability in the community.
The association also commended the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, and the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Femi Yusuf, for their roles in the process.
It further extended special appreciation to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, as well as the Igbomina Traditional Council led by the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo.
The group equally lauded the leadership of Omo Ibile Igbomina, under its President, Sir Fakayode, alongside the entire Ganmo community and residents for their support, resilience, and commitment to peace and progress in Igbomina land.
