The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has given former students until December 31, 2026, to collect their outstanding certificates or face a monthly demurrage fee of two thousand naira from January 2027.

The directive is aimed at addressing the growing number of uncollected certificates that have remained in the institution’s custody for several years, despite their importance for employment, further education and other official purposes.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Records Division, Mr Saka Ibrahim Eletu, on behalf of the Acting Registrar, the institution urged all affected graduates to visit the division and collect their certificates before the deadline.

The certificates available for collection include National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Diploma, Higher Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma certificates.

The management warned that any certificate not collected on or before December 31, 2026, would attract a monthly demurrage fee of N2,000, effective January 1, 2027.

Affected graduates have therefore been advised to complete the collection process within the stipulated period to avoid additional charges.

They are also required to present their original statements of result, valid means of identification and evidence of payment for the certificates to facilitate the collection process.
