Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to building strong partnerships with stakeholders to drive sustainable revenue growth without imposing undue burdens on citizens.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, gave the assurance in Ilorin during an advocacy visit by the Brain Builder Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) to her office.

Dr. Nuru emphasized the importance of collective support for ongoing tax reforms aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency, and efficient service delivery, while building a robust and equitable tax system that fosters shared prosperity.

She explained that the State has streamlined its revenue processes to enhance the ease of doing business and improve efficiency across the revenue value chain.

According to the Commissioner, the ongoing infrastructure revolution remains the backbone of Kwara’s economic growth and development.

She also highlighted progress in land administration reforms, including improved land titling, issuance of Certificates of Occupancy, and the digitization of land records to ensure transparency and accessibility for both citizens and investors.

Earlier, the BBYDI Programme Officer, Ramat Owolabi, underscored the importance of collaboration with government on tax compliance and grievance resolution.

She noted that the organization’s focus on budget literacy, stakeholder participation, and system integration aligns with the State’s push for an inclusive and technology-driven tax administration.

Owolabi commended the government’s transparent, growth-oriented tax policies, particularly those designed to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
