
Mr. Kolawole Olatosimi Presenting a policy report and analysis on girl-child protection to the Deputy Governor of Kwara State
Kwara State Government has emphasized need to protect young girls from child marriage.
The State Deputy Governor, Elder Kayode Alabi stated this while hosting the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria on a courtesy visit to his office.
The Deputy Governor, who noted that child marriage is harmful on mental health of young girls and their future aspirations, stated that the Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq led administration is championing policies that promote the rights and well-being of women and girls.
The Deputy Governor also assured that the present administration would continue to implement progressive measures to safeguard women and the girl child.
The Co-chair of the National Coalition of Civil Society, Mr. Kolawole Olatosimi, praised the Kwara State Government for its proactive efforts in enforcing girl-child protection policies.
Mr Olatosimi described Kwara state as one of the leading states in implementing such initiatives and urged the government to strengthen legal protections for victims of abuse.
