Kwara State Government has directed the immediate closure of Government High School and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta, in Ilorin West Local Government Area due to students’ unrest.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe gave the directive at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Ilorin.
Dr Olohungbebe stated further that only students who are writing the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations, SSSCE and teachers would be allowed to be in the school for the period of their examination.
He enjoined students who are involved in the SSCE examination to always put on their identification cards when coming to the school and urged parents as well as guardians to allow their children and wards to stay at home.
The Commissioner added that any student who violates the directive shall be apprehended by security officers.
