
Kwara State University (KWASU) has achieved a notable milestone as its Institutional Repository (IR), has been officially listed on the African Digital Research Repositories.
The University’s Librarian, Prof. Abdulsalam Salman, while describing the listing as a positive development, said the recognition would significantly boost the institution’s visibility both locally and internationally, contributing positively to its academic rankings.
Prof. Salman further explained that having the repository listed improves access to valuable research outputs, fosters knowledge sharing, and encourages academic collaboration, as well as greatly enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the university.
The KWASU Librarian commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, for his foresight and unwavering support, which he said were instrumental in the establishment and success of the Institutional Repository.

To secure the listing on the African Digital Research Repositories, KWASU implemented a stringent submission and review process.
This process was designed to ensure the repository meets high standards of academic quality and integrity, positioning the university as a leader in research innovation across the continent.
