President of the Kwara State Tailor Association, Seriki Tailor, Alhaji Abdulsalam Yusuf Akanbi has urged government at all levels to run an interest free loans for Nigerians to reduce the current hardship and protect businesses from running down.
Alhaji Akanbi who made this call during an exclusive interview with our reporter in his office in Ilorin, said government at all levels must wake-up to their responsibilities.
He attributed the hardship situations across the country to the policies of the current administration in Nigeria, pointing out that something urgent must be done to curb the situation.
Alhaji Akanbi explained that although Government can not do it all alone but must stand to assist the poor masses by providing a means of surviving through interest free loans to reduce poverty in our society.
The Kwara State Fashion Designer Secretary, revealed that the Kwara State Chapter of Tailors has been running free interest free loans,not only for its members but residents as a way to complement efforts of the government at the local level.
The Seriki Tailor urged other association members to emulate the tailors in running such loan facility within and outside their association, describing the tailors association as the best and humane union.
He advised the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to prioritize human capital development through empowerment and employment to eradicate poverty.
Alhaji Akanbi complained that high interest rate on loans are major set back for people, calling on Kwarans and Nigerians to support government at all levels for the growth of the Nation.
The Seriki Tailor commended the efforts of Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari for his fatherly role in piloting the affairs of the traditional institution over the years, while congratulating him for his recent birthday celebration.
