
Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete, has announced the call for abstracts for the 3rd KU8+ conference, set to take place from the 6th to the 8th of August 2025.
A statement by the Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Professor Olubukola Christianah Dada, reveals that KWASU, as the host for the 3rd edition, is ready to welcome academics, industry professionals, and community members to the three-day event.
According to the statement, Professor Dada also anounces that the conference will feature a keynote address by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu, along with two lead paper presentations.
The statement notes that, two pre-conference workshops will be held, led by prominent academics in the field.
It further explains that the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KU8+, Emeritus Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede will serve as the special guest of honour.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and Chairman of KU8+, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, will be the chief host.
The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh Luqman Alade Jimoh, will host the conference, with all proprietors of KU8+ private universities, pro-chancellors of KU8+ public universities, members, and the Board of Trustees also attending as special guests.
With the theme “Innovation and Sustainability of Higher Education in a Changing World,” the conference aims to foster meaningful discussions across various disciplines and engage key stakeholders in the education sector.
KU8+ is a consortium of universities located within Kwara State, working together to harness their collective strengths and promote collaboration among member institutions.
