The management of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced the temporary movement of staff and students from its Ilesha-Baruba campus to the main campus in Malete, describing the decision as a precautionary security measure as the year draws to a close.

According to a statement signed by the Acting Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the university management recently visited Ilesha-Baruba and confirmed that the environment remained calm, with students and staff in high spirits despite the upcoming relocation.

It notes that preparations are in top gear for its 13th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to begin on December 9 and continue through the week, with the Ilesha-Baruba community expected to join the events at the main campus.

Following the convocation activities, the entire student body will proceed on a mid-semester break ahead of resumption in January.

The statement assures the public and stakeholders that the move is temporary and strictly in the interest of safety.
