The Kwara State 2025 revised appropriation Bill today scaled through second reading at the plenary of the State House of Assembly.

Leading the debate, the House Leader, Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, explained that the review became necessary in view of fluctuations in revenue projections, exchange rates, and other prevailing economic realities.

In her contribution, the Chairman, House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Arinola Lawal, noted that despite the reduction in the overall budget size, capital expenditure was increased.

She commended the commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration for providing quality infrastructure for the people of the state.

Other lawmakers who contributed to the debate expressed support for the bill and called for its speedy passage.

The Clerk of the House, Alhaji Kareem Ahmed Olayiwola, thereafter read the bill for the second time.

After the debate, the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu referred the Bill to the Committee on Budget and Appropriation for further legislative work.

The Speaker said the revised budget identified key areas that must be adjusted to meet the needs and aspirations of the people.
