Kwara State House of Assembly has approved the transfer of interest and properties of Harmony Holdings and its subsidiaries to the State Government.

The approval followed a motion on need to transfer properties of Harmony Holdings Limited to the State Government was moved by the House leader, Alhaji Mogaji Oba Abdulkair.

While leading the debate, Alhaji Abdulkadir said the motion was in response to the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq’s request and urged members to support it.

Other lawmakers, who spoke in support of the motion, enjoined the Governor to direct the Ministry of Justice to provide the necessary legal instruments for the process of transfer.

Meanwhile, Governor Abdulrasaq also sought for the approval of appointment of Hajia Hafusat Yusuf as the Chairperson of the State Civil Service Commission for the second term.

This was disclosed in a letter sent by the Governor which was read at the plenary by the Speaker, Mr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
