The Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners ANPMP, has announced its commitment to enhancing the treatment of emergency cases nationwide, aiming to significantly reduce fatalities during critical health situations.

Dr. Kay Adesola, President of the ANPMP, made this declaration while addressing journalists at the National Executive Council meeting held in Ilorin.

Dr. Adesola emphasized the association’s desire to manage all emergencies, highlighting private medical facilities as the primary round-the-clock life-saving entities within the health sector.

He noted that private medical personnel currently attend to a substantial 60 to 70 percent of patients, thereby playing a crucial role in complementing government healthcare efforts.

However, Dr. Adesola also voiced concerns regarding the challenges faced by ANPMP members due to existing government policies.

He urged the federal government to implement sustainable solutions to combat the pervasive “brain drain” within the health sector.

His recommendations included the provision of modern medical equipment and the creation of a more conducive and habitable environment for healthcare practitioners across the country.
