
The Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Labour, Comrade Mumini Abdulkareem Onagun, has said the reappointment of Comrade Issa Aremu as Director General of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin is a testament to his hard work and commitment.
Onagun added that it is thrilling that the MINILS boss has continued to make positive impact.
This was contained in a congratulatory message he issued, a copy of which was made available to Journalists in Ilorin yesterday.
The Kwara Governor’s aide admonished both the management and workers’ unions in the labour institute, a federal government establishment, to work together and focus on maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
He explained that disputes are inevitable in any organization but maintained that amicable resolution is crucial.
While congratulating Aremu on his reappointment as the MINILS Director General, Onagun said his office is committed to an harmonious working relationship with the institute.
“I am very delighted to hear about your reappointment as the Director General for the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies for another period of four years. Once again, a very huge congratulations to you on this reappointment.
“Your dedication and expertise are truly valued, and I am thrilled to see you continue to make more positive impacts.
“Your reappointment is a testament to your hard work and commitment. My office remains committed to an harmonious working relationship with the institute.
“As the Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kwara State, I also salute the workers and in house unions of MINILS for their dedication and commitment that led to the achievements of the DG for reappointment!
“I hereby call for continuous cooperation between the management and unions. Disputes are inevitable but better resolved amicably. In any case, MINILS teaches due process in conflict resolutions in the world of work.
“Let us encourage ourselves to focus on maintaining a positive and respectful work environment by prioritising our shared goals and continue to work together to support the important mission of our Labour Institute,” he said.
It would be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, last week, reappointed Issa Aremu, a former Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), for another term of four years as Director General of MINILS.
