The National Forum of Heads of Federal Government Establishments, Kwara State chapter, has congratulated retiring civil servants in federal establishments across the state for successfully completing their years of service to the nation.

Chairperson of the forum, Mrs. Fausat Kadir, delivered the congratulatory message during the 2025 End-of-the-Year Celebration for Retirees and Transferees, held at the Forum House in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Mrs. Kadir described retirement as “not a life sentence but the best part of life,” encouraging the senior citizens to embrace the new phase with optimism. She urged them to relax, travel, pursue passions, acquire new skills, stay curious, and maintain healthy lifestyles. She further advised retirees to plan wisely for life after service, remain prayerful, and stay focused on meaningful engagements.

Mrs. Kadir also charged transferees to sustain their commitment, loyalty, and dedication to national service, while wishing them success in their new duty posts.

Delivering a goodwill message, Assistant Controller of Immigration, Kwara State Command, John Didda, noted that retirement is an inevitable stage in life. He encouraged retirees to remain cheerful and avoid negative influences capable of leading them into wrongdoing.

Similarly, the Manager of the Federal Mortgage Bank, Kwara State branch, Mr. Nurudeen Mohammed, who emphasized the importance of channeling energy into productive ventures after retirement, advised retirees interested in business to maintain financial discipline by avoiding the mixing of pension funds with business capital. He also encouraged them to foster good relationships with their community members.

Responding on behalf of the retirees and transferees, Pastor Ayo Amos, representing the former General Manager of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Alhaji Abdulwahab Akoshile, who has been transferred to head Bond FM Lagos, expressed profound appreciation to the forum for the honour. Pastor Amos, however, prayed for continued success for members of the association in their respective fields.

Harmony FM reports that the celebration featured the presentation of gift items to retirees and transferees, the cutting of the celebration cake, and other activities marking the colourful event.
