The Director-General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam Issa Onilu has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda will reposition the country for sustainable development and national pride.
Mallam Issa Onilu gave the assurance in Ilorin during a media parliament with the themed “Can Citizens Still Be Hopeful in a Renewed Hope Era?”.
The media parliament was organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kwara State Council under the Chairmanship of Comrade Abdullateef Lanre Ahmed.
The NOA Director General emphasised the need for patriotism among Nigerians, urging citizens to adopt positive attitudes that will contribute to the nation’s progress.
He noted that the situation inherited by President Tinubu requires a complete overhaul to ensure economic viability.
According to him, for microeconomic improvements to take effect, macroeconomic indicators must first be stabilised.
He acknowledged that development often comes with challenges but maintained that the present administration is making steady efforts to enhance revenue generation.

Mallam Issa Onilu noted that Nigeria’s debt servicing ratio now stands at 63 per cent, with about 37 per cent of revenue available for government expenditure—an improvement from previous years.
He further stated that the stock market has been reinvigorated, restoring investor confidence and attracting businesses to the country.
On revenue generation, he highlighted that Nigeria now produces over 1.5 million barrels of crude oil daily for the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), strengthening the economy.
The DG called on Nigerians to embrace a culture of conservation and actively contribute to national growth and development.
In a remark, the Chairman of NUJ Kwara State Council, Mallam Ahmed Abdullateef, said the media engagement was organised to enlighten the public on government policies and programmes.
He stressed that such forums provide citizens with the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions on issues affecting them.
Mallam Abdullateef also urged the government to formulate policies that have a direct and positive impact on Nigerians.
