
The National Orientation Agency, NOA in Kwara State, has staged a walk to create awareness on the National Values Charter and sensitize residents on the lyrics of the National Anthem.
The campaign train which kick-started at the NOA office, Federal Secretariat, Ilorin passed through Maraba, Sabo Oke and Offa Road.
Addressing journalists at the event, Director General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu urged Kwarans to be patriotic and play active role in the birth of a new Nigeria.
Mallam Issa-Onilu, represented by his Special Adviser on Partnership and Programmes, Anthony Eromosele said every residents of Kwara State must begin to make deliberate efforts to imbibe the values of Nigeria was known for.
“What we are saying is that, citizens of Kwara should play their parts and then show their own duties while they expect the government to also bring about their promises.”

Also, the NOA, Kwara State Director, Alhaji Dare Abdulganiu who explained that the campaign was being done across the sixteen local government areas of Kwara State, emphasized the need for citizens to be disciplined and mind their dispositions to protect the country’s image.
Alhaji Abdulganiu who stated that the National Values Charter contains seven provisions each for people in positions of authority and the citizens, described the Charter as a game changer which would promote accountability and development.
“Individual has that right that the government has the responsibility to provide us jobs. And then we have dignity of labour, individual should be respected according to his area of specialization. Then we have peace and security which is the paramount responsibility of the government to provide for the citizens.
“While on the other hand too, the citizens are expected to be disciplined, to have that duty of care, that is, consider others too in the society. Think about your neighbor. Think about what you can do to benefit the society.”
The NOA State Director urged every resident of Kwara State to join in the campaign until the values being advocated become a norm in the society.
