NPC Urges Parents To Register Their Children In Ongoing Birth Registration
The National Population Commission, NPC, has urged parents to present their children for the ongoing birth registration at the commission.
The NPC Director in Kwara State, Pastor Emmanuel Adepoju Adeyemi gave the advice while featuring on the Search-light/Oju-Oro, a Radio Nigeria – Harmony FM current affairs programme.
Pastor Emmanuel Adeyemi explained that the registration would assist government to plan for the future of the children in the country.
He expressed concern over the low turnout of the parents to register their children in the mop up exercise.
The Kwara NPC Director highlighted some of the importance of the registration to include; accurate national database, effective planning for schools, and job creation.
Mr Emmanuel Adepoju Adeyemi gave the assurance that the federal government through the commission is ready to register all the children in the country.
