
NUC Approves 10 New Programmes For KWASU.
Kwara State University, KWASU, has received approval from the National Universities Commission, NUC, to run 10 new programmes starting from the 2024/2025 session.
According to a statement by the KWASU Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the approved programmes include Estate Management, Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Mining Engineering, Marketing, Sociology, Criminology and Security Studies, Physiology, Human Anatomy, and Cyber Security.
The NUC’s letter, dated December 10, 2024, the programmes are to be run in full-time mode, and the University is expected to provide adequate human and material resources for their development and growth.
The statement notes that the Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh describes the approval as timely and a reflection of the University’s readiness to train quality human resources that will impact society.
It adds that the approval will bring the undergraduate programmes run by KWASU to eighty.
The statement commends staff of the institution for working assiduosly to secure the approval from the regulatory commission.
