Police Arraign Four for Alleged Ritual Killing in Kwara

Abdulrahman Muhammed Bello and four other suspects have been arraigned in court for allegedly killing a final-year student, Hafsoh Lawal, of Kwara State College of Education.

The accused were charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and possession of human parts.

The four accomplices include: Ahmed Abulwasiu, an Islamic scholar from Adualere, Ilorin; Sulaiman Muhydeen, a Neo Life business person from Amilegbe, Ilorin; Jamiu Uthman, a phone repairer from Adualere, Ilorin and AbdulRahman Jamiu a farmer from Elemere, Malete, Kwara State.

According to the police, the five accused belong to the same cult group and confessed to killing Lawal for ritual purposes.

Magistrate Sanusi Muhammad ordered that Bello be remanded at Oke-Kura Custodial Centre until March 6, 2025, as the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
