The State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Ilorin on the command’s recent achievements.

CP Ojo explained that the suspects were apprehended across different parts of the state for offences ranging from criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and armed robbery, to trafficking in human parts, possession of human parts for ritual purposes, and other related crimes.

Items recovered from the suspects include arms, ammunition, cartridges, cars, cows, a battle axe, hard drugs, and cash amounting to ₦2.7 million.

He noted that two kidnap victims were also rescued during the operations.

Narrating one of the incidents, Ojo said that on August 15, 2025, the residence of one Yusuf Adamu of Shiya, near Okuta, was attacked by heavily armed kidnappers who abducted his wife, Yusuf Suliat, at gunpoint.

Following the attack, the police, working in synergy with local vigilante groups, launched a coordinated manhunt that led to the arrest of the suspects.

The Commissioner assured that the successes recorded reflect the command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents across Kwara State.
