The family of late Quoyum Abdulyekeen, student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin who was allegedly shot by Policemen, has been visited by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya.

The Police Commissioner, while delivering the message of the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, expressed gratitude to the family of the deceased for their cooperation in the ongoing investigation, assuring that justice will be served.

The IGP had directed the Federal Criminal Investigation Department to take over the investigation by transferring all officers involved to ensure a thorough and impartial inquiry.

Parents of the deceased, Mr. Muselim Abdulyekeen and Mrs. Ramat Abdulyekeen, thanked the IGP and the Kwara State Police Command for their unwavering support and expressed hope that the ongoing investigation would result in justice.

Alhaji Mohamed Kewugbemi, an Islamic cleric alongside head of the extended family, Alhaji Erolalujana, who prayed for the repose of the soul of the late student, called for quick execution of justice on the case to serve as deterrent to extrajudicial killing.

The Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, also attended to show solidarity with the family.
