As part of its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, the Dele Shittu Foundation has donated food items to people with disabilities across the three senatorial districts of Kwara State ahead of this year’s Ramadan fast.

To this end, the programme aims to reach approximately 6,000 people across Kwara State and the Central District.

Speaking on the initiative, representatives of the foundation, and Managing Director, Toheeb Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for their turnout, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to providing relief and empowerment to those in need.

Acording to the MD of the Foundation, today’s gestures marks the second consecutive year that the Dele Shittu Foundation has carried out food distribution initiatives, reinforcing its mission to support underprivileged groups, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to him, Initially, PWDs were not part of the foundation’s feeding plan, but after the issue was brought to their attention, the organizers swiftly created a special quota for them, adding that, despite the short notice, over 20 PWD beneficiaries visited the office to receive food aid.

Speaking on the foundation’s long-term vision, Ibrahim reassured beneficiaries that the organization remains committed to sustaining and expanding its outreach programmes in the coming years.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Coordinator, Ilorin West Local Government, Joint Association of People with disabilities, Hajiah Lateefat Aromadu, expressed their appreciation for the support, acknowledging the foundation’s efforts in improving their well-being and fostering inclusivity in society.

The donations, which included essential food items, aim to ease the financial burden on people with disabilities, ensuring they have adequate nutrition throughout the fasting period.

The foundation, which is linked to Daily Group, is a pharmaceutical company based in Kwara State rendering humanitarian effort, reinforces the foundation’s dedication to supporting vulnerable communities and ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against food insecurity.
