Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will overcome its current internal challenges, insisting that the party remains strong and will not go into extinction. Dr. Saraki made this known while addressing party members at the PDP Kwara State Youth Summit held in Ilorin to commemorate his 63rd birthday.

According to him, disagreements within the party should be seen as opportunities for growth rather than signs of failure, stressing that the PDP would emerge stronger.

Dr. Saraki also called on political leaders to be intentional about creating opportunities for young people, while urging youths to believe in themselves and actively participate in nation-building.

Earlier, in an address of welcome, the Kwara State Chairman of the PDP, Issa Adamu Bawa, said the summit was organised to celebrate Saraki, whom he described as a leader who believes in inclusive participation, has a clear philosophy and has recorded remarkable political achievements.

In a keynote address, the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, charged Kwara youths to take ownership of the political process and prepare for leadership through discipline, education and service.

Similarly, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, represented by Banks Omisore, described Saraki as a national figure and urged youths to remain actively involved in politics and community development.

Earlier, the Kwara State PDP Youth Leader, Comrade Odunjo, called for unity, mobilisation and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
