IEDPU Charges Kwara Police Command On More Proactiveness

The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has urged the Kwara State Police Command to continue to take proactive measures against crimes and criminality across the State, particularly within Ilorin Emirate.

Alhaji Abdulmalik made this appeal on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, when he led a delegation of the Union’s National Executive Council, which was on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr Mobolaji Victor Olaiya, in his office.

He explained that the impacts of the police proactiveness are being felt as the crime rate across the State had reduced significantly.

Alhaji Abdulmalik also called on the Police High Command to ensure the swift development of the land donated by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, for the new site of the Police Training School, Ilorin.

The community leader also used the opportunity of the visit to invite the Police Chief to the opening ceremony of its upcoming this year’s edition of its Annual National Conference scheduled for December 25, 2024 at the Forecourt of the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin.

Responding, the Police Commissioner thanked the President and members of his entourage for the visit, which he said was very encouraging.

The Police Chief assured the Union that the State Police Command would continue to ensure that criminals either relocate from the State or turn a new leave as he insisted that no stone would be left unturned for peace and tranquility to prevail throughout the State.

Mr Victor Olaiya, who was joined in receiving the IEDPU delegation by the Deputy Commissioner (Administration), Mr Nurudeen Abdul, also said that other requests tabled by the Union would be appropriately addressed and attended to for the benefit of the two institutions as well as the entire State.

According to the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, the President was accompanied on the visit by some members of the National Executive Council of the Union.
