Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin yesterday held a book presentation titled “Peace and Conflict Resolution: A Reader” in honour of the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Noah Yusuf.
The book presentation which featured good will messages, brought together scholars, researchers, and peacebuilding practitioners to celebrate the academic contributions of Prof. Noah Yusuf.
Chairman of the occasion and Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole congratulated the outgoing Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University and honouree of the book, Prof. Noah Yusuf for his successes.
Prof. Wahab Egbewole described Prof. Noah Yusuf as a respected scholar and peacebuilding expert, who made significant contributions to the field of peace and conflict resolution.
Similarly, the Guest of Honour, Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali extol the academic legacy of Prof. Noah, noting that he is a man of honour and peace.
Prof. Yusuf Ali called on peace builders to emulate the honouree through continued research and collaboration in the field of peace and conflict resolution.
Also, the Special Guest of Honour and founder of Al-Hikmah University, Dr AbdulRaheem Oladimeji congratulated the former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Noah Yusuf and charged others to emulate his diligence, commitment and sincerity.
The Jagunmolu of Igbaja, Dr AbdulRaheem Oladimeji enumerated various successes the university recorded during the tenue of prof. Noah Yusuf and wish him the best in all his future endeavours.
Earlier, in an address of welcome, Chairman of the Book Presentation Committee, Dr John Tor Tsuwa explained that the book featured contributions from renowned scholars and experts in the field.
Dr John Tsuwa noted that the book provides a critical examination of the complexities of conflict and the importance of peacebuilding in contemporary society.
The Book Reviewer, Dr Tayo Simeon Arinde of University of Ilorin, stressed that the book is expected to be a valuable resource for scholars, researchers, and practitioners working in the field of peace and conflict resolution.
Dr Tayo Arinde hinted that the comprehensive coverage of key themes and issues makes the book an essential read for anyone interested in promoting peace and understanding.
In a good will message, the new Vice Chancellor of the Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Abdullateef Oladimeji described Prof. Noah Yusuf as humble and peace lover, stressing that the book is a testament to his dedication and commitment to promoting peace and understanding.
Prof. Abdullateef Oladimeji pointed out that the book would go a long way in addressing the complex challenges facing contemporary society including conflict management, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.
In a response, the honouree and immediate past Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah, the founder of the University and Jagunmolu of Igbaja Dr AbdulRaheem Oladimeji as well as the university community for the opportunity given to him to serve.
Prof. Noah Yusuf dedicated success recorded during his time to the support and cooperation of the founder, his colleagues, staff and the students of the university and urged them to rally round the new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullateef Oladimeji for the success of the institution.
The event which featured good will messages from academicians and other dignitaries including the Elerin of Adanla Irese, Dr David Oyerinola, was attended by the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Alhaji Femi Yusuf and the General Manager of Kwara State Social Investment Programme, KWASSIP, Dr Abdulwasiu Tejidini.
