The University of Offa is set to honour the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora, as an Ambassador of the University.
Hajia Abubakar-Mora, alongside other distinguished personalities, will be decorated during the university’s first convocation ceremony scheduled to begin on October 7, 2026.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Radio Nigeria Harmony FM in Idofian, Kwara State.
Professor Gbolagade explained that the week-long convocation activities would include a news briefing by the Vice Chancellor, intra sport competitions and dinner.
The University of Offa Vice Chancellor affirmed that the institution had obtained Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration for its graduands and was also exploring grant opportunities to support them in establishing businesses and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures.
He noted that the university had recorded significant growth since its establishment, with its student population and academic programmes expanding steadily.
In a remark, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora, expressed appreciation to the university for the honour and pledged her readiness to support its ideals and objectives.
Hajia Abubakar-Mora commended the Vice Chancellor for his dedication to growing the institution, providing quality education and ensuring that students are adequately prepared for life and opportunities after graduation.
She suggested that the university should collaborate with the Bank of Industry to assist the graduating students with start up capital.
In the Vice Chancellor’s delegation were the Director of Academic Planning and Institutional Research, Dr Abdulrazaq Agboola Bello; Course Coordinator, Facauyof Health Sciences, Kazeem Adewole Gbolagade; Personal Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Mustapha Obalowu Jimoh and the Head of Media and Public Relations Unit, Taofik Adekunle Jimoh.
The University of Offa was licensed by the Federal Government in 2021 and commenced academic activities in 2022.
