The Arometa Development Association (ADA) has endorsed Dr. Muyideen Olaniyi Salako as its preferred candidate for the 2027 Kwara State governorship election, calling on political stakeholders in Kwara South to unite behind a common front to secure victory.
Chairman of the association, Evangelist Sunday Ajileye, made the declaration at a press conference, describing Arometa as a community-driven body committed to development, economic empowerment, and improved infrastructure across the district.
The group emphasised that the principle of power rotation remains crucial, insisting that Kwara South is strategically positioned to produce the next governor, given its electoral strength spanning seven local government areas.
Evangelist Ajileye explained that the endorsement followed a thorough assessment of aspirants, noting that Dr. Salako stands out in leadership capacity, grassroots appeal, and a development agenda focused on agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

While acknowledging the competence of other aspirants, the association urged them to close ranks and support a consensus candidate, warning that disunity could undermine the district’s chances in the governorship race.
The association also expressed support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, citing ongoing reforms and national development efforts.
Arometa called on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress to consider its choice of candidate, stressing that unity and strategic alignment will be decisive for Kwara South’s political future.
