The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Area Command, has taken strategic steps to strengthen its working relationship with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
This collaboration aims to enhance national security and policy implementation.
Acting Area Controller Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogundeyi hosted the collaborative talks during separate courtesy visits by NSCDC State Commandant Abbas Mohammed and SON Kwara State Coordinator Engr. Oyewopo Abdulrazaq at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin.
According to a statement by Public Relations Officer S.M. Suleiman of the Nigeria Customs Service Kwara Command, discussions focused on deepening mutual understanding and identifying fresh areas of synergy.
Key priorities outlined during the sessions included exchanging first-hand intelligence and developing unified strategies to implement government policies effectively within the state.
Speaking during the visits, Deputy Comptroller Ogundeyi emphasized that inter-agency cooperation is essential for modern governance, noting that no single organization can achieve its mandate in isolation.
“Such partnerships are paramount to attaining effective governance and service delivery,” Ogundeyi stated.
“The Nigeria Customs Service remains committed to building bridges and fostering partnerships to ensure we deliver our mandate with integrity.”
The heads of NSCDC, Mr Abbas Mohammed and Engr Abdulrazaq Oyeweo of SON expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the Kwara Area Command, describing the engagement as a
“refreshing and productive” step toward a more united front in public service.
At the end of the meetings, all three agencies resolved to pursue creative ways to collaborate and ensure a more positive impact on the security and economic standards for the people of Kwara State.
