
UNICEF Trains Over 120,000 Students On Digital Learning Skills In Kwara
At least 120,000 students in Kwara State are to benefit from the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) initiative to increase their capacity in digital learning skill in basic education.
The training programme launched in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the State Government will also train about 3,000 teachers in the State on Digital Skills.
The Chief of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Office, Mr Gerida Birukila said that, the programme targeted at indigent rural dwellers and out of school children, would also train about 3,000 teachers in the State on digital skills.
Mr Birukila represented by the Education officer, Mr Bala Dada noted that about 15,000 devices have been made available to poor and rural children to improve their digital skills.

He gave the assurance that the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) would continue to partner the state government in education and healthcare services among other areas.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazq of Kwara State lauded the initiative, saying that the programme would improve the capacity of the teacher and the students as with the introduction of the digital learning they could learn from any part of the world.

Governor AbdulRazaq represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Jibril Mamma Saba, commended the federal government and UNICEF for the introduction of the programme to support teachings and learning.
