No fewer that sixty four private security guards have been trained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Kwara State.
According to a statement made available to Harmony FM by the Command’s spokesperson, Mr Michael Ayoola in Ilorin, the training is to equip the guards with modern approaches to intelligence gathering, surveillance, and crime detection.
At the passing out parade, Kwara State Commandant of the Corps, Dr Umar Mohammed, represented by District Commander Danladi Darlong, said that participants were drawn from various licensed Private Security Companies to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to address the troubling trends of insecurity in the state.
He stated that the trainees had undergone two weeks of intensive training and were exposed to modern approaches to intelligence gathering and surveillance, as well as techniques for detecting malicious plans by criminals aimed at unleashing terror in the state.
The Commandant charged the trainees to remain vigilant and responsive in their duties and to report any unethical conduct observed to the appropriate authorities for timely action.
Kwara State Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Mr Paris Agege, commended the NSCDC for its pivotal role in ensuring that the private security guards were well-trained and equipped with the essential skills needed to effectively discharge their duties.
