The Kwara State House of Assembly has approved a total of ₦656.5 billion as the state’s budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
The budget was passed on Friday following the presentation and consideration of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, presented the report during plenary, which was presided over by the Speaker, Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu.
It will be recalled that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had, in December 2025, presented a proposed budget estimate of ₦646,004,816,893 to the House for consideration and approval.
The final approval of ₦656,595,559,298.49 represents an increase of ₦10,590,742,405.49 over the initial proposal.
