The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Command, has witnessed a leadership change as the outgoing Controller, Comptroller Mathew Ojeifo, formally hands over to an Acting Controller, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogunbiyi, following the completion of his tenure.

This is according to a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Command, Deputy Superintendent of Customs, S.M. Suleman, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

Comptroller Ojeifo expressed appreciation to all officers and men of the command, other security agencies, and relevant stakeholders for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

He acknowledged that the command recorded commendable achievements in revenue generation, enforcement activities, and service delivery during his period in office.

He also expressed absolute confidence in the leadership capacity, experience, and professionalism of officers and men of the service across the country.

The outgoing Comptroller described the incoming Acting Controller, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogunbiyi, as a seasoned and upright officer and urged all personnel of the command to accord him maximum support, loyalty, and cooperation to enable him succeed.

In his response, the Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogunbiyi, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and the management team for the opportunity to serve the nation in the capacity of a State Comptroller.

He assured of his commitment to upholding the standards, values, and excellence of the Nigeria Customs Service.
