Kwara State Government has urged intending Pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state by being steadfast and focused throughout the 2025 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Mamman Saba Jibril made the call at the enlightenment lecture and prayer organized by the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Ilorin.

Professor Jibril, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Service, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Shuaib, encouraged the intending pilgrims to compliment the efforts of the state government by exhibiting good behaviour at the holy land.

In a remark, the State Amirul Hajj, who is also the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu reiterated the importance of good ambassadorial roles by the intending pilgrims.

He urged them to be peaceful and remain dedicated to the hajj rites.

Oba Alebiosu commended the state government for putting in place all the necessary measures to ensure a hitch-free hajj exercise.

Also, the Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Moshood Jimba thanked the state government for ensuring adequate renovation of the hajj camp, and appointment of competent hands to run the affairs of the board.

Professor Jimba advised intending pilgrims to pay attention to all the lectures to ensure they did not miss out on any activities which would benefit them.

Earlier in an address, the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadri, hinted that a total of 2,150 intending pilgrims had so far been registered and ready to be airlifted by Max Air from the middle of May, 2025.

He enjoined the intending pilgrims to see hajj as a sacred rite, which must be done with total dedication and steadfastness.
