The Kwara State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the killing of a farmer, Mr. Azeez Garba, whose lifeless body was found on his farmland along the Owa-Onire axis between Isanlu-Isin and Owu-Isin in Isin Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, condemned the killing as “cruel, senseless and unacceptable.”

The Commissioner directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to deploy all available investigative and intelligence resources to apprehend those responsible.

According to the statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had left home for his farm in the morning but did not return, prompting family members and local vigilantes to launch a search.

His motorcycle was found parked on the farmland, while his body was later discovered a short distance away with multiple deep machete wounds.

The Police Command said no arrests had been made as of the time of the statement but assured that investigators were pursuing all available leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The command also extended its condolences to the bereaved family and reassured residents of Isin Local Government Area and the wider Kwara community of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
