Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has called on the people of Kwara State, especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to take the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with utmost seriousness.

Saraki described voter registration as the most powerful tool available to citizens to shape the future of both the state and the country.

In a statement issued by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, the former Senate President made the call in Ilorin after a meeting with party leaders, stakeholders, youths, and women from across the state during the Expanded PDP State Caucus Meeting.

“Our conversations kept returning to one critical point: the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise,” Saraki said. “I cannot overemphasise this—registering to vote is the single most powerful tool we have to shape the future of our state and our nation. Every new registration and every updated card is a voice secured for tomorrow.”

He expressed appreciation to PDP members for maintaining peace and unity throughout the party’s ward, local government, and state congresses, noting that sustained progress would only be achieved when such unity is matched with purposeful civic action.

“That action,” Saraki stressed, “begins with registering to vote.”
