A non-governmental organisation, Help Women Foundation, has distributed Ramadan food items to 30 persons living with disabilities in Kwara State as part of efforts to support vulnerable groups during the holy month.
The Founder of the Foundation and former Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kwara State chapter, Mrs. Bola Olupinla, said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden of beneficiaries and enabling them to observe the Ramadan fast with dignity and comfort.

She noted that Ramadan is a season of compassion, generosity and reflection, adding that persons living with disabilities often face additional economic and social challenges that require collective support.
According to her, the distributed items included essential food supplies such as rice, garri, beans and other household necessities to sustain the beneficiaries and their families throughout the fasting period.
Mrs. Olupinla called on well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and government agencies to consistently include persons with disabilities in their empowerment and welfare programmes, stressing that inclusive support is vital to building a more caring and equitable society.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Foundation for what they described as a timely intervention amid rising living costs.
They prayed for the continued growth of the organisation and success for its founder.
The Help Women Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to championing the rights and welfare of women, children and other vulnerable members of society through sustained humanitarian outreach and advocacy initiatives.
